Humanities
Welcome to the Humanities department
Mission
Through engagement in literature, film, culture, and writing, Humanities students develop the ability to apply creative skills to problem-solving, analyzing and evaluating information, thinking critically, and communicating effectively.
Values
The Humanities Department is committed to studying human creativity in all its forms and, in doing so, exploring the human condition. Our department is founded on the idea that students can learn much about peoples, cultures, or time periods by studying the creative work of their fellow humans across multiple media and that such study fosters in students the ability to learn about themselves and the world.
