Job Summary/Purpose: |
Under general supervision, the position performs a variety of custodial services both individually and with other Custodial Services staff in College buildings as assigned. Custodian provides superior customer service to provide a clean, safe working environment.
This custodial position interacts with faculty, staff, students, and the public during open hours. It is distinct from the Custodian Lead, which functions as a working lead over other custodial positions.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements: |
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises, considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling requires of objects up to 50 pounds. The individual must reach, bend, stoop, crouch, and perform similar functions. Persons in this position may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Hours and shifts vary for this position to meet the needs of the department and College. The work schedule can include all seven (7) days of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements and essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. |
