Job Summary:
The Hospitality & Community Assistant is an 11-week student position with a live-on requirement. The HCA will assist in both Summer Conference duties as well as Residence Life duties. For Residence Life, this includes facilitating a student community environment that is focused on success and learning and assisting the Residence Life Coordinator in the implementation of a modified community development model for summer residents.
For Summer Conferences, the HCA will assist in all phases of operations including facility preparation, check-in/out procedures, guest room changeovers and linen collection. The position serves as a campus and community resource to guests during registration, front desk and day/night duty rotations. HCA ensures safety, security and quality service through room inspections and adhering to housing policies. The position requires a dedicated time commitment and willingness to be available and accessible to residents and conference groups.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Temporary Hourly/Non-Benefited position
- Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed.
- COCC employees must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
- The College is NOT able to support Visa applications for this position. Applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States to be considered for this position.
- Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.
Pay and Time Commitment:
1. This position will compensate in two ways depending on the work:
a. On-campus housing accommodations (furnished bedroom) Saturday, June 10 - Friday, September 1, 2023. Generally, this will cover Community related tasks. Note - Due to availability, a specific room type cannot be guaranteed. Current residents should expect to move rooms.
b. Hourly wage of $13.50 for Hospitality and other specified tasks.
2. Hours per week vary depending on weekly group schedules with an average of 15 hours/week.
3. Attend weekly and/or bi-weekly staff meetings.
4. Subject to 24-hour on-call status, performing all aspects of position responsibilities while in the residence hall and on campus, on or off duty, day or night.
5. Commitment and flexibility are key for this position. Approval is required for a second job and/or taking more than six summer term credits.
