Veterinary Technician Program

TheVeterinary Technician Associate of Applied Science degreeis an intensive, full time, two-year veterinary nursing program. Not only will you gain real world experience outside of class, our 10,000 sq. ft. hands-on veterinary technician training facility in Redmond will allow you to immerse yourself in all aspects of animal care.

Students who are accepted into the Veterinary Technician program go through their terms together, attending the lectures, labs and other activities as a group. If you love helping animals (as well as their owners), then this program will give you a step above the rest.

The Veterinary Technician Program is accredited by the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) as a program for educating veterinary technicians.

Mission Statement
The Central Oregon Community College Veterinary Technician Program will provide high quality veterinary technicians to our local, state and national veterinary medical, public, and research communities.

Potential Careers

Veterinary Technicianswork under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Many veterinary technicians work in veterinary clinics providing animal care including x-rays, surgery, restraint, medication management and daily office management. Veterinary technicians may also work in research, zoos, veterinary supply sales, animal training, rehabilitation and many other animal careers.
